SUBMISSION OF AWARD APPLICATION: All correspondence, whether by mail or email and including that for awards joint between ISE and other societies, should be sent to the ISE Office. Unsuccessful candidates can re-apply in a subsequent year, provided that they still meet the age requirements.
The Klaus-Jürgen Vetter Prize for Electrochemical Kinetics was donated by former students of Professor K.J. Vetter, by Dechema e.V., by the Fachgruppe Angewandte Elektrochemie (FG) of the Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker and by the Deutsche Bunsengesellschaft (DBG). It may be awarded biannually to an electrochemist on the basis of his or her published work in the field of electrochemical kinetics. The applicant’s age shall be less than 40 years on June 1st of the year of application.
The prize consists of a certificate and the sum of 2500 Euro inclusive of a contribution towards travel expenses for the winner to attend a meeting of the GDCh or of ISE. The winner gets free ISE membership for one year.
The winner is expected to give a lecture at a meeting of one of the three German Chemical Societies, and/or at a symposium of ISE Division 7 «Physical Electrochemistry» within the following year. In the latter case, ISE will pay for his/her registration and banquet fees.
The application should consist of the following items: A curriculum vitae, a publication record, a maximum of ten of the most relevant publications and a statement of a senior electrochemist concerning the scientific contribution of the candidate to any joint publications. Forms for the submission of applications are provided. A CD-ROM or a DVD containing the filled in forms and all required application documents, in either MS-WORD or PDF format, should be sent to the ISE Office. Alternatively, the application and the documents may be uploaded via FTP, following the instructions which may be obtained from the ISE Office (info@ise-online.org). Applications submitted in printed form are no longer accepted.
Candidates can apply on their own behalf.
A call for applications is published by media of the supporting societies. Applications shall be sent to the ISE Office. The winner is announced by the supporting societies.
The winner is officially informed by the chairperson of the selecting committee. Unsuccessful candidates are informed by ISE.
The prize winner is selected by a Selection Committee consisting of three members nominated jointly by the FG, the Dechema and the DBG, and of two Officers of ISE. The Selection Committee members elect the chairperson. Re-nomination in the Selection Committee is possible.
