The Bioelectrochemistry Prize of ISE Division 2 may be awarded every two years to a scientist who has made an important contribution to the field of bioelectrochemistry.
The prize consists of a certificate and the sum of 750 EUROS, which includes a contribution towards travel expenses for the winner to attend the ISE Meeting where the award will be presented. ISE will pay for his/her registration and banquet fees.
Nominations can be made by individuals or institutions. Candidates are also allowed to apply on their own behalf.
The winner is expected to attend the ISE Meeting where the award will be presented and to give a lecture at a symposium which is organized or co-organized by ISE Division 2 Bioelectrochemistry during the following year.
The nomination/application should consist of no more than 1000 words giving details of the relevant contribution of the individual. In addition, it should include copies of 5 scientific articles, in PDF format, judged to be the most significant in the candidate's production. Forms for the submission of nominations/applications are provided. A CD-ROM or a DVD containing the filled in forms and all required nomination/application documents, in either MS-WORD or PDF format, should be sent to the ISE Office. Alternatively, the nomination/application and the documents may be uploaded via FTP, following the instructions which may be obtained from the ISE Office (info@ise-online.org). Nominations/applications submitted in printed form are not accepted.
The prize winner is selected by a committee chaired by the chairperson of Division 2 Bioelectrochemistry and comprising 4 other members representing different geographic areas. These members shall be appointed each year by the chairperson, and must be distinguished scientists active in the field; re-nomination is possible.
