SUBMISSION OF AWARD APPLICATION: All correspondence, whether by mail or email and including that for awards joint between ISE and other societies, should be sent to the ISE Office. Unsuccessful candidates can re-apply in a subsequent year, provided that they still meet the age requirements.
The ISE Prize on Environmental Electrochemistry is donated by the Oronzio and Niccolò De Nora Foundation, Milan, Italy. It may be awarded annually to a scientist of less than 35 years of age on January 1st of the year of the award, for recent application-oriented achievements in the field of environmental electrochemistry.
The prize consists of a certificate and the sum of 3,000 USD, inclusive of a contribution towards travel expenses for the winner to attend the ISE Meeting where the award will be presented. The winner gets free ISE membership for one year.
Candidates should apply on their own behalf. Researchers who receive in the same year of the award a De Nora Foundation Fellowship are not eligible for this award.
The application should consist of the following items: a curriculum vitae, a publication record, a maximum of five of the most relevant publications and a statement by a senior electrochemist concerning the scientific contribution of the candidate to any joint publications. Forms for the submission of applications are provided. A CD-ROM or a DVD containing the filled-in forms and all required application documents, in either MS-WORD or PDF format, should be sent to the ISE Office. Alternatively, the application and the documents may be uploaded via FTP, following the instructions which may be obtained from the ISE Office (info@ise-online.org). Applications submitted in printed form are no longer accepted.
The prize winner is selected by a committee consisting of the Chairpersons of ISE Divisions 1, 3 and 5, and of two additional distinguished scientists active in the field of environmental electrochemistry, appointed by the Executive Committee of ISE. The committee members designate one of themselves as chairperson.
The prize is presented to the recipient at the Awards Session of the Annual ISE Meeting in the following year. The winner is expected to give a lecture at a symposium of this Annual Meeting. ISE will pay for his/her registration and banquet fees.
